Autumn Adela Tyr-Salvia

I am creating an intentional, public identity.

One of the interesting effects of the net being so searchable is that it is increasingly difficult to keep separate your various selves. It's no longer easy to expect that by picking one or two pseudonyms, you will be anonymized and not associated with your legal name. Someone somewhere associated your legal and online names, maybe just once or twice, and now you're out to anyone who searches for ten minutes. In my case, I did it on purpose when I was young enough not to entirely grasp the implications of this.

While part of me mourns the loss of my own chance at hiding, I have instead chosen to embrace the unification of selves that my online presence requires. I am a lot of things, and it would be hypocritical of me to deny any of them in an effort to be more "presentable" to another group. I am a loyal and dedicated worker to an employer who welcomes me for who I am; hiding my less conventional aspects would only keep me from the jobs I'd really thrive in.

Here I am. I am a professional support engineer who loves Unix and helping people. I am an artist and a prankster who enjoys making reality a bit more absurd. I am an extrovert, and dedicated to my family, friends, and lovers.

If you want to find me online, I maintain profiles on a lot of different sites. Here are some of them:
